HX Effects
A pedalboard-sized multi-effects unit with the full Line 6 HX effects library, six stomp footswitches with colour-coded LEDs, two effects loops and full MIDI. No amp or cab models — this one sits in front of, or inside, an amp you already have.
If yours has amp models it is an HX Stomp or an HX Stomp XL. If it is a single pedal with two switches it is an HX One.

Controls and footswitches
Every control on an interactive top panel, plus what the six LED colours actually mean.
Inputs and outputs
Every jack on an interactive rear panel, the two loops, and why USB is not an interface.
Specifications
The numbers that answer a question, starting with the one that defines the device.
What every model really is
Line 6's own decoder for the HX library. The amps are not on this device; the effects are.
Levels
Two settings decide whether it sounds like the demo or sounds broken. Both live in a menu, and neither is a tone control.
Cabs and IRs
What an impulse response is, how to load one, and why a downloaded preset can load fine and still play the wrong cabinet.
Blocks and DSP
With no amp or cab in the way, what you can actually fit.
Rig setup
In front, in the loop, four-cable, or direct with an IR.
Snapshots and modes
Four snapshots, two footswitch modes, and the global bypass combo.
MIDI
What a controller can actually reach, the three messages that recall a sound, and the trick that lets one preset serve several songs.
Questions and answers
Straight answers to the things people actually ask.
Troubleshooting
Symptom, cause, fix — including what is documented behaviour rather than a fault.
Firmware and backups
What an update changes, what it leaves alone, and the one-minute backup that means it never costs you anything.
